New hub URL for 2008/2009:

'theotherunishub.thruhere.net'

Use this instead of 'UNISHUB.DNSALIAS.COM' in the guide above

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

When I go to use fast connect and place unishub it responds:
[08:32] *** Connecting to unishub...
[08:32] *** The requested address is not valid in its context.

What's wrong? I have firewall enabled.. Is this a problem?

*** Connecting to unishub...
*** The requested address is not valid in its context.

*** A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Anyone know how to re-set-up the unishub.dnsalias.com again? I have the Ptokax server software and 1 un-used PC. I can set-up a server, but it is only can be accessed from my LAN only but not from the entire ResNet. This is a good way to share files between us. Anyone know, please reply here.

.... or maybe there is other server inside our university that I do not know. Anyone care to share?

what is the latest address for 2010/2011?

Martin Lewis said...

I'm Mac based and have installed ShakesPeer.

When I try and connect to to a hub it asks for an address and a password. What should I put for the password. (my username is unique and does not cause the problem.)

Thanks!

Hey all I'm on campus accommodation and does this basically mean that bounceme is down till the 7th?? and what's the alternative surely there is a backup or alternative one that people can use? Ps any idea how to use the torrents safely if it is gone for good or any other file sharing facilities?? They can't leave us cold turkey! What does this mean, STUDY!!! Ahhh

gerrit said...

does anyone know the new link to the dc++ plus surrey hub if its still running. its seems that the link unishub.bounceme.net no longer works!

Anonymous said...

i think it works now on manorpark btw you guys at least it works for me anw

Anonymous said...

Is DC++ still working? UNISHUB.BOUNCEME.NET no longer works.

Anonymous said...

bounceme works if you put adcs:// at the beginning and port number :1511 at the end

Anonymous said...

are we still using shakespeer for mac?

Anonymous said...

To anyone trying to connect to DC++ on campus:

Follow the setup guide, but replace the address:

UNISHUB.DNSALIAS.COM

with:

adcs://unishub.bounceme.net:1511

Anonymous said...

adcs://unishub.bounceme.net:1511

Does not work. 'I get invalid port in hub address' error. Anyone actually managed to get it working this year?

Anonymous said...

Mine works using adcs://unishub.bounceme.net:1511

.......

Anonymous said...

mines connected to unishub.dontexist.com

but what next?

Anonymous said...

The 'unishub.dontexist.com' doesn't seem to have any users, nor be working - where did you get that address from?

The 'adcs://unishub.bounceme.net:1511' is running fine with quite a few users.

Isn't this hub external to resnet though (it says it is based in Russia), and was setup for the summer vacation.

Do we have an internal hub yet??

Anonymous said...

first time user of dc++ here

followed instructions here using ApexDC++ and using adcs://unishub.bounceme.net:1511 and no problems for me so far

big shout out to all responsible
